Joint Sino-Indian statement on Saturday's border talks is silent on specifics of next steps

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Northern Army Commander, Lieutenant General YK Joshi had earlier stated that the 10th corps commanders' meeting would take up the question of pullback from the other sectors where China had intruded last April -- Depsang, Gogra, Hot Spring and Demchok.

That vow seems to have been forgotten. Today's joint press release contains only generics. Complete silence on where the next disengagement will take place: No location mentioned, no time frame.

  1. If it took 10 odd meetings for the sector where the Chinese were at a checkmate if not at a disadvantage, these other areas where the strategic factor is not really in India's favour would possibly require more 'adaptability' on our part and that must stretch the number of meetings out ???

  2. The Chinese achieved their aim of removing us from the dominating heights the lake area. Besides, they stopped us from patrolling upto Finger 8.We have been cheated.
