Hey Shiv... thanks very much!

You might have noticed the new look to Broadsword... the photographs, the layout, and now the new masthead.

My sincere thanks to Shiv Aroor --- my friend and colleague --- who has done this for me, despite his own busy schedule.

Owe you one... er.... many, Shiv!

  2. nice art work, but one small correction, the broadsword is in general broad. would have liked to see it broader than in the art.
About a broad sword, it is a sword which can be used to parry blows from other sword using its broadside while attack using its sharp side. it is heavier than other swords so less agile but more powerful.
that makes your selection of the word broadsword quite interesting ajai. BTW why is it ajai and not ajay? Any particular reason? You consult bollywood astrologers?

  6. My warmest welcome, Shukla.

Now, for your part of the deal, please update us on LCH and Nirbhay missile. Pictures please if possible (not those old ones we've already seen).

  7. On the LCH, can't post yet, alas. Will do so as soon as I can; that's a promise.

Nirbhay, quite frankly, I haven't even covered yet.

But thanks for the ideas, will do what I can.

  8. Glad you like the title, Broadsword, anonymous... I chose it because I liked the audio ring to it. A bit like Longbow.

And, of course, you know that both those weapons were technological developments that changed the way armies fought wars.

No time for Bollywood astrologers. I'm called Ajai because my grandmother had her own ideas about spelling!

  10. Nice work to both Ajai and Shiv for bring out some really neat pictures recently.

    Now to some business:
In the latest DRDO Tech Focus magazine, DRDO has confirmed the existence of a MALE UAV development program called Rustom. Can either one of you provide any more details on that program? Pics would be wunderbar!

There are a lot of people that do appreciate your work. Keep it up.

  13. the only difference i can see is in the title (on top f the page).. so whats the big deal? did some1 even have 2 do that for u?

    ReplyDelete
  14. No, Critic, I can't do even that. I'm not too handy with internet tools.

I was helped not just in the logo, but in setting up the entire page layout. For which I'm grateful.

Will do an entire article series on DRDO technology focus. I'm in the process of having conversations on that. But until then, can't post anything on the subject, alas.

The LCH will have to wait until my next trip to HAL. But it'll be a complete piece when I do go.

  17. Hi Ajai,

You don't seem to be posting quite as regularly these days. Busy on an assignment?

Do post some more good stuff when you find some time!

  18. Ajaiji, I'm 22 year old MTech (CS) student from Bangalore. I'm watching your TV coverages on NDTV for last 5 years. Whatever you have done for Indian defence and spreading India's interests all over the world, i heartly appriciate them.

Can you please post some pics of LCH and Nirbhay?

    Please.....................

If possible give some light to the DRDO's next generation ABM programme AD-01 and AD-02 which will have capability to destroy incoming ballistic missiles 250 km above earth.

    Thank you again,

    Pritam.
