The surface to surface Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM), Agni-5, underwent a night-firing trial a short while ago.
The test took place on October 27 at approximately 1950 hours from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha, which was formerly known as Wheeler's Island.
The Agni-5 missile is powered by three solid fuelled engines, and is capable of striking targets at ranges up to 5,000 kilometres with a very high degree of accuracy.
The successful test of Agni-5 is in line with India’s stated policy to have ‘credible minimum deterrence’ that underpins the commitment to ‘No First Use’.

How is there no mention of where it landed within the 5000 km radius ? Must have been seaward ?
