When you wrote "the Afghan government took representatives of 16 of the shortlisted companies (including 11 Indian) to the proposed site of the Hajigak mine for an on-ground evaluation", I was wondering, who are the other 5? My concern is China and their influence gaining more momentum in the near future in this country through these contracts. China has a huge demand for Iron ore, they currently import from India too (high Grade), and perhaps will do everything to get it. How are our companies doing in this competition, where do they stack versus others. It would also be great, if you would let us know, how China wound up getting the Copper Mining contract in the midst of a American installed Afghanistan Government (Did any Indian Company Bid at all)....just boggles me. Guess, if our company does not get 2 out of these 5 mining projects, it tells us India does not have much pull on the Afghanistan Govt after pouring nearly 2 Billion Dollars into this country. It also limits our influence in the near future too.

Cheers,
Bharath, BangaloreAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8726844009873922462.post-88313182549653139402011-06-07T13:41:20.034-07:002011-06-07T13:41:20.034-07:00India will get nowhere without pak's blessing....India will get nowhere without pak's blessing....and that isn't comming unless kashmir is solved first!
